Privacy Policy
A plain-language summary of what we collect and why. Have this reviewed by a legal professional before you publish.
Draft notice. This page is a working template, not legal advice. Because the site is directed at families, get professional guidance on children's privacy obligations — including COPPA in the United States — before collecting anything from a child.
What we collect
- Letters:a writer's first name, a parent or guardian email address, an optional country or region, and the letter itself.
- Contact messages: your name, email address, an optional order number, and your message.
- Orders: delivery details and order contents. Payment card details are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers.
What we deliberately do not collect
- A child's own email address.
- Phone numbers in the letter form.
- A home address in the letter form — delivery details are separate.
Children's privacy
The letter form asks a parent or guardian to confirm before a letter can be sent, and any reply goes to the guardian's email address rather than to a child. If you believe a child has provided information without a guardian's involvement, email hello@yourdomain.com and we will remove it.
State your retention period here in days or months, and describe how a guardian can review or delete a letter.
How long we keep things
Describe your actual retention schedule for letters, contact messages, and order records, and how each is deleted at the end of it.
Cookies and preferences
The site stores your shopping cart in your own browser so that it survives a refresh. Nothing in it is shared with us until you begin checkout. If you add analytics or advertising, list every cookie here and add a consent banner before those scripts load.
Your choices
To ask for a copy of what we hold, or to have it deleted, email hello@yourdomain.com. We answer during our support hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
